Ramayan Building constructed in Bhanu municipality, Tanahun

Tanahun, Jan 8 (RSS): Ramayan Building has been constructed at Shikharkateri of Bhanu municipality-4 at a cost of Rs 30 million. Department of Tourism and Bhanu Birthplace Development Committee jointly constructed the building, according to Bhanu municipality. Mayor of Bhanu municipality Udayraj Gauli said that artistic Ramayan building has been constructed targeting Visit Nepal year-2020 in Tanahun, the birthplace of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya. Outgoing executive director of Bhanu Birthplace Development Committee, Shankar Ranabhat, said that a master plan has been formulated to construct different physical infrastructures like Bhanu house, canteen, library and pond in around 10 ropanis area. Similarly, 100-feet tall statue of Adikavi would be constructed to further attract tourists, added municipality. Ukraine jet crashes in Iran, killing at least 170

(AFP) – A Ukrainian plane carrying at least 170 people crashed shortly after take off in Tehran killing all on board, Iran state media reported. The Boeing 737 had left Tehran’s international airport bound for Kiev, semi-official news agency ISNA said, adding that 10 ambulances were sent to the crash site. “Obviously it is impossible that passengers” on flight PS-752 are alive, the head of Red Crescent, Morteza Salimi, told semi-official news agency ISNA, adding that 170 passengers and crew had boarded the plane. State news agency IRNA said 167 passengers and nine crew members had boarded the plane, which was operated by Ukraine International Airlines. Press TV, state television’s English-language news broadcaster, said the plane went down in the vicinity of Parand, a city in Tehran province. The crash was likely to have been caused by “technical difficulties”, it reported, citing Ali Khashani, spokesman for Imam Khomeini International Airport. “The plane caught fire after crashing,” said Press TV. A video aired by the state media broadcaster appeared to show the plane already on fire, falling from the sky. Visit Nepal Year promotional programmes held internationally

The Visit Nepal Year-2020 has been inaugurated internationally. The promotional programmes to this regard have so far been organised in Beijing of China, Doha of Qatar, Pretoria of South Africa, Ottawa of Canada, Paris of France and Cairo of Egypt. 122 Chinese nationals being deported today

One hundred and twenty two Chinese nationals arrived here on tourist visa and involved in illegal activities are being deported today. The Chinese nationals are being deported this evening, according to the Department of Immigration. Police had arrested them on December 23 from Manamaiju, Maharajgunj and Budhanilkantha area of Kathmandu for their involvement in illegal activities, staying in Nepal. A single bench of Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Janakraj Dahal, had, on January 5, slapped fine of Rs 1,000 each to the 122 Chinese nationals on the case under indecent behaviour. There is a provision of charging maximum Rs 10,000 fine on indecent behaviour case. Police had handed over the arrested Chinese nationals to Department of Immigration. The Department had decided to charge Rs 1,000 for those whose visa term has not expired and Rs 2,000 fine for those whose visa has expired. “The works of verifying their travel documents and charging them fine has been completed on Tuesday alone. They will be deported this evening,” Department’s immigration officer Baikuntha Raj Regmi told RSS. It is said the Embassy of China has paid their money. The decision to deport the Chinese nationals has been made based on the Immigration Act 2049, Immigration Regulations 20151 and the Immigration Work Procedures 2065.
