Kathmandu-  The NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, currently underway at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, has witnessed an overwhelming response from visitors, with more than 55,000 people visiting the expo in its first two days.

Organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA), the expo has attracted large crowds, with visitors showing strong interest in cars, motorcycles and electric vehicles. Many visitors have also been booking vehicles of their choice after comparing prices, features and performance.

Visitors have shown particular interest in battery capacity, motor performance, driving range and after-sales service, while participating companies have offered discounts, one-year insurance, vehicle tax, free servicing and low-interest financing to attract customers.

More than 26,000 visitors attended the expo on the second day, following over 29,000 visitors on the opening day. Organizers expect around 150,000 visitors throughout the six-day event.

The second day also saw the launch of four new vehicle models, following the launch of 48 new models by various brands on the opening day.

As part of the expo, a ‘NAIMA Mobility Dialogue’ was held under the theme ‘Mobility: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’. Speakers included House of Representatives member and Infrastructure Development Committee Chairperson Ashish Gajurel, Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office Chief SSP Suresh Prasad Kafle, Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs National Federation President Saroj Sitaula, Infrastructure Development Ministry adviser and traffic and transport engineer Anukul Nidhi, and former NADA Automobile Association President Dhruva Bahadur Thapa. More than 300 participants took part in the dialogue.

The first day of the expo featured a discussion on ‘Investment and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI): Mobilizing Fuel for Economic Growth’. Various discussions featuring domestic and international experts will continue throughout the expo.

The second edition of the expo, aimed at promoting sustainable, green and technology-friendly transportation, will continue for six days until August 16. Major attractions include electric cars, e-scooters, electric commercial vehicles, new models and brands entering the Nepali market for the first time.

Banks, financial institutions and insurance companies are also offering special deals and concessional financing for vehicle buyers during the expo.
