Governments of India Extends Financial Assistance of NRs. 37.23 Million For the Construction of Sanitation Facility at Pashupati Area Temple Complex

Today, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Embassy of India, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City for the construction of Sanitation facility within the Pashupati Area Temple Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The project will be funded under Nepal-Bharat Maitri: Development Partnership as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP or earlier SDPs) by Government of India. The project proposal was forwarded by the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) to the Embassy in October 2019. Under the project, India will extend a financial assistance of NRs 37.23 million for construction of sanitation facilities for use by pilgirms and tourists to the Pashupatinath Temple. The project will be implemented by Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) in accordance with the norms laid out by Government of Nepal (GoN). As per the understanding, KMC will identify a suitable contractor through a tender process for completing the construction work in 15 months from the award of work. Pashupati Temple of Kathmandu is the largest temple complex in Nepal and stretches on both sides of the Bagmati River and sees thousands of worshippers every day. India clears the position and opinion on constitution amendment of Nepal. In response to media queries on the passing of Constitutional Amendment Bill revising the Coat of Arms of Nepal by the House of Representatives of Nepal, the Official Spokesperson of government of India Mr. Anurag Srivastava said, ” We have noted that the House of Representatives of Nepal has passed a constitution amendment bill for changing the map of Nepal to include parts of Indian territory. India To Re-build 56 Higher Secondary Schools in Nepal

The Embassy of India and the Central Level Project Implementation Unit (CLPIU) of the Ministry of Education, Nepal signed 7 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) for re-building 56 higher secondary schools located in Gorkha, Nuwakot, Dhading, Dolakha, Kavrepalanchowk, Ramechhap and Sindhupalchok districts of Nepal. These schools will be re-built as part of Government of India’s post-earthquake reconstruction in Nepal with a grant of NRs. 2.95 billion. 2. These schools will be re-built as per Government of Nepal’s norms for earthquake-resilient reconstruction. The school infrastructure will consist of academic blocks, classrooms along with furniture and separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Knowledge Management and Dissemination Strategy in Nepal

  Krishna Prasad Paudel, KM Expert          The World Health Organization (WHO) report of 2018 accounted that globally, 829 000 people die each year because of diarrhoea which is mostlya result of unsafe drinking-water, sanitation, and hand hygiene.To mitigate the risk of disease, a global initiation has begun, particularly, in the area of WASH. One such example is integrating WASH related strategies in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). The goal 6 of the SDG provides a new context for WASH sector.It targets to reduce water-related diseases more specifically, diarrhoeal diseases by 25–35% increasing WASH integration and making a possible collaboration across sectors and programs. Furthermore, to meet the ultimate target to goal 6 of increasing the life expectancy of the citizen of the world, particularly for the child of the developing countries, it is expected that reduction in WASH prone disease will increase the increase the life of the both urban and rural habitants of the world. Universal access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene for all, improved water quality, efficiency of water use, integrated water resource management, and protect and restore ecosystem are the key strategies highlighted in the goal.
