Kathmandu- Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Ltd. has launched a Nursing Care Room and Day Care Facility at its Central Office in Durbar Marg to support working mothers and promote a more inclusive workplace. The initiative was introduced to mark World Breastfeeding Week 2026 (August 1–7).

According to the Bank, the new facility has been established to provide breastfeeding mothers with a safe, comfortable, hygienic, and private space to nurse and care for their infants while at work.

The Nursing Care Room and Day Care Facility was formally inaugurated during a special ceremony by the President of the Mahalaxmi Women’s Leadership and Development Forum.

The Forum, established on the occasion of the Bank’s 32nd Anniversary, aims to strengthen women’s leadership, enhance professional skills and self-confidence, promote equal opportunities, foster an inclusive workplace, and organize programs focused on women’s empowerment.

Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank stated that the launch of the new facility reflects its long-standing commitment to inclusiveness and gender equality. The Bank said the initiative is designed to create an employee-friendly and family-friendly work environment by respecting motherhood, promoting work-life balance, and improving employee well-being.

On the occasion, the Bank also encouraged other organizations to adopt more mother-friendly workplace practices and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the health, dignity, and overall well-being of its employees.

The Bank further noted that it remains committed to delivering quality financial services across Nepal. As part of its customer-focused innovation, it recently introduced its Digital Hub with Coffee concept to enhance customers’ banking experience.
