View tower and Buddha park inaugurated at Bandeutar hill

In a bid to promote tourism at Bandeutar hill in Bhumlu rural municipality-8, Dolalghat, the construction of a view tower and Buddhapark has been taken ahead. Bagmati State Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment has put forward the construction of a view tower and Buddha park at tourism site Dolalghat at the cost of Rs 55 million. Inaugurating the view tower and Buddha park on Sunday, Tourism Minster Arun Nepal informed that the view tower will be constructed through public budget in the current fiscal year while Buddha park will be built next year. “We are also exploring potential tourism sites in the state”, he said. Also speaking on the occasion, state assembly member Laxman Lamsal, District Coordination Committee Kavrepalanchowk chief Uddhav KC and Dolalghat Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suresh Kakshypati suggested protecting the structures for promoting tourism in Dolalghat. Dhulikhel hospital gets approval for post-mortem service

  Dhulikhel community hospital has obtained approval for operating post-mortem service. Ministry of Health and Population has granted permission to the hospital for running the service on 15 January 2020. Shir memorial hospital has been rendering this service in Kavre. The Dhulikhel hospital on last Sunday held consultation with chiefs of district-based administration, police and court as part of its preparation for post-mortem service. According to Dr Rajkumar Karki, the hospital had been in consultations with multipole stakeholders for the operation of post-mortem service since 2071 BS. The ministry has granted approval for the service after the construction of necessary infrastructure and human resource management. “We are delivering the service in line with the Medico Legal Service Operation Guideline-2075 BS”. The hospital has arranged three specialist doctors to run the service for 24 hours. Morgue freezer lying idle: compulsion to attend dead bodies

Morgue freezer has been lying idle following disruption of the construction of Rapti Academy of Health Science (RAHS)’s mortuary due to budget crisis. The RAHS has faced budget crunch to bring the mortuary into operation, informed its Registrar Ram Prasad Pyakurel. The mortuary cabinet that was imported when the current institute was in the status of sub-regional hospital had not come to use, he shared. He said the RAHS has demanded for budgetary arrangement from government to operate mortuary. “It will help manage unattended dead bodies if the morgue freezer is arranged”, he added. The unattended dead bodies has made whole RIHS surround stinking and also caused trouble in carrying out post-mortem. Police said the under-construction mortuary has the capacity to bear 5-7 dead bodies and will prevent dead bodies from decomposition. Ichchhakamana rural municipality supports 1.1 million for cricket stadium

The Ichchhakamana rural municipality in Chitwan has provided a monetary assistance for the under-construction Guatam Buddha International Cricket Stadium project based in the district. The local government assisted Rs 1.1 million for the project being implemented with the support of Dhurmus- Suntuli Foundation. Rural municipality chair Geeta Kumari Gurung, vice chair Kriti Kumar Shrestha and chief administrative officer Sukadev Lamsal jointly handed the amount to the project amidst the Mahayagya, a religious event, being held to the raise the funds for the project. DPM Pokharel emphasizes extensive discussions for climate action

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwor Pokharel has stressed on extensive discussions for minimizing the climate change effects and adaption, arguing that Nepal was worst hit by the climate change. Speaking in the pre-discussion of ‘Sagarmatha Sambad’ (Sagarmatha Dialogue) here today, DPM Pokharel mentioned that Nepal’s mountains, lifestyle and ecological system had borne the scourge of climate change. Nepal is going to host the ‘Sagarmatha Sambad’, a flagship global forum to generate discourse on the national, regional and international concerns facing Nepal as well as other countries across the world. The event themed ‘Climate Change, Mountains and the Future of Humanity’ will be held in Kathmandu from April 2 to 4 this year.
