Ministry to establish gender-based violence elimination fund at 753 local levels

The Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizen is set to establish gender-based violence elimination fund at all 753 local levels. In this regard, procedure has been formulated and Rs 10,000 released each for all local levels where the project will take place, said Man Maya Pangeni, Chief of the Women Empowerment Division under the Ministry at an interaction organised here today by the Forum for Women, Law and Development. She expressed her hope that the project would help eliminate bad customs and social evils existing in the Nepali society. The total 5,506 chaugoths (menstruation hut) in Achham district alone have been dismantled in recent time, according to the Ministry. Dhangadhi prepares for hosting ‘World Nepali Literature Festival’

A gathering of writers, poets and people associated with the Nepali literature across from the globe is taking place in Dhangadhi. The event entitled’ World Nepali Literature Festival’ is kicking off here on coming Wednesday. The first-ever global gathering of Nepali literary figures for Dhangadhi is expected to provide an opportunity for connecting Nepali language, Nepali community, identity, culture and world together. The event has been scheduled to take place from February 26 to March 3 on the initiation of Far Western RegionalLiterature Society. Over 200 Nepali writers, poets and litterateurs from home and abroad are taking part in the festival. They will be from India, Myanmar, and the United States of America besides Nepal. Nepal’s Tranquility Spa and Wellness bags international award

Nepal’s Tranquility Spa and Wellness has received the international Best Spa and Wellness Award, 2020 for its service. The Malaysian Government on the recommendation of the Association of Malaysian Spas provided the award to the Spa. Khem Dhami, director of the Spa, Malaysia, received the award amid a function today. Foreign aid should not be accepted without conditions: NWPP

President of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party Narayan Man Bijukche has said the Indo-pacific Strategy is not beneficial for Nepal. Speaking at an interaction on ‘MCC and Indo-pacific strategy’ held here today, he said that endorsing the MCC agreement would invite a risk of Nepal’s own laws becoming ineffective in the country. NWPP Secretary and Federal Parliament Prem Suwal said endorsing the MCC agreement means joining the military alliance led by the US. Mayor of Bhaktapur Sunil Prajapati said the government should not accept any foreign aid unconditionally, including the MCC. Good governance and development are govt’s main agenda: PM Oli

Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), KP Sharma Oli, has said that good governance and development are the main agenda of the government. Addressing the state-level training organised by NCP Gandaki state here on Monday, Prime Minister Oli stated that the government has been moving ahead keeping good governance and development in priority for a prosperous Nepal.
