Four held with red panda hide

Four persons were arrested with red panda hide from Kapan, Kathmandu. The Metropolitan Crime Control Division made public the arrested ones on Tuesday. The arrested ones were Surya Bahadur Bhujel from Sindhuli, Suk Bahadur Lama from Dhading, Kamala Tamang from Kathmandu and Yubaraj Sapkota from Kaski, said Senior Superintendent of Police Sahakul Thapa. Bagmati state to expand CM people health examination programme

The Bagmati state government is set to expand the Chief Minister People Health Examination Programme across the state. The programme was launched nine months ago with the aim of ensuring easy excess to health service to all people of the state. Initially started from five hospitals in five districts of the state, the programme will be expanded to 15 hospitals of 13 districts from coming mid-March, said Minister for Social Development of the state, Yubaraj Dulal, adding that some hospitals however started it, and others would do so in some weeks. Under this drive, 25,000 poor people of the state are expected to receive health service for free in next one year, and 75,000 people of the state get health check-ups for a minimum charge, he said. Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Hridayesh Tripathi has said investment from private and public sectors was imperative in education sector. He also said there was no dispute among the political parties on the issues relating to education and health. Wearing mask mandatory for entering India from Gaddachauki

Nepalis entering India via the Gaddachauuki transit on the Nepal-India westernmost border in Kanchanpur district are required to wear masks as per the edict of the Indian border security personnel. The Indian side has been urging the people entering the India through Gaddachauki to mandatorily wear masks as a preventive measure against Covid-19. The Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB), the border security force of India has made it mandatory for people entering and leaving India to wear masks, the Area Police Office Gaddachauki said. The Indian side has also mobilised a medical team with doctor at the border. “It is learnt the medical team also screens the people if they suspect coronavirus infection,” Chief of the Area Police Office Gaddachauki, Narendra Chand, said. According to him, India has taken stringent measures including the mandatory wearing of masks for people crossing the border since a week for preventing the spread of coronavirus. The local vendors have said the sale of masks has surged from Gaddachauki to SSB Camp after the enforcement of this requirement. Payment to Melamchi Water Supply Project sub-contractors yet to be finalised

The status of payment which the Italian company, CMC, has to make to the subsidiary contractors and suppliers is still not decided. The CMC was the main contractor of the Melamchi Water Supply Project before it abandoned the project in the middle. The Ministry of Water Supply and Sanitation has stated that although the wages remaining to be paid to the local labours has been finalized, the payment to the sub-contractors and suppliers has not been and preparations were underway for the same. The Ministry has formed a technical committee to study about the dues the Italian company owes on the basis of claims for payment made by the subsidiary contractors and suppliers. Ministry spokesperson Ritesh Kumar Shakya said it will take some more time to pay the sub-contractor companies for the materials they have supplied for the project. “Verification is being done to check whether the claims made by the companies for payment of their dues are correct or not. The payment process will be forwarded once the verification is concluded,” he said. The Italian company had not paid the workers and the sub-contractors when it left the project all of a sudden in the middle. Since then the sub-contractors and suppliers had been demanding that either the government should make CMC pay them or it itself pay their dues.
