Since time immemorial, India and Nepal share deep-rooted socio-cultural connect and people to people ties. To cherish this special and unique bond, Embassy of India and B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation announce ‘MaitriThrough My Lens’ Photography Contest. It will celebrate this multi-faceted relationship between the people of two great countries through the language of photography. Contestants may focus on themes that capture the common threads of bonhomie in the field of arts, architecture, dance, education, religion, festivals and celebrations etc. They may also focus on socio-economic development and iconic projects which capture partnership of both the countries towards economic prosperity. Eligibility criteria: The contestant should be a Nepali Citizen. 2. Entry Guidelines:   All entries must be in JPEG format. Each entry must be representative of the central theme “India – Nepal Friendship”. Participants must ensure that the entries submitted are of good quality and high resolution. There is no entry fee for this competition. Contestants can submit more than one entry subject to the condition that only 1 prize can be given to any contestant. Bagmati State deputy speaker recovered from coronavirus infection

Bagmati State deputy speaker Radhika Tamang who was at home isolation for 14 days after testing positive for coronavirus got recovered from the infection. Through a social networking site, deputy speaker Tamang on Monday shared that she and her son tested negative for the virus in its re-examination after an interval of time. Also on the occasion, she extended thanks to all for their best wishes for recovery from the infectious disease. “I am indebted to the people at home and abroad for their emotional support and advice for recovery from the effects of the virus. Tamang also extended gratefulness to the state ministry of social development, Hetauda-based health agencies, parliament secretariat, personal secretariat and family members for encouragement to get out of coronavirus effects. “Mainly maintaining physical distancing is an effective way to protect oneself from the virus. Late Singh’s contributions to women freedom spectacular: NC general secretary

Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Dr Shashank Koirala said the contributions of the late Mangala Devi Singh were spectacular for women’s freedom in Nepal. He said this at a virtual interaction ‘Women leadership in post-COVID-19 new world’ organized by the Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation to mark the 24th memorial day of women leader Mangala Devi Singh. The general secretary added the late Singh’s role was critical in bringing women to the present situation. In order to establish women’s rights at par their male counterpart, veteran leaders such as Siingh, Divya Koirala, Shailaja Acharya and Sushila Koirala made significant contributions during their times, he added. Sudurpaschim records additional 100 coronavirus cases

As many as additional 100 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection in the Sudurpaschim State in the past 24 hours. According to the Health Division under the State Ministry of Social Development, additional 100 suspects were confirmed to have contracted the deadly virus while testing swabs collected in Dhangadhi, Doti district hospital and Dadeldhura hospital. The infected confirmed on Sunday were from Kailali, Achham, Doti, Darchula and Bajhang districts. With this the number of corona infected people has reached 5,754 including 1,505 women and 4,249 men in Sudurpaschim State alone. As of Sunday, Kailali district has seen a record-high 1,699 coronavirus cases. As informed daily 1,730 swab samples are being collected in the State. The local administration has enforced restriction in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts to prevent the spread of the virus....
