NOC decided to do insurance of COVID-19 of All the Olympians, Athletes and Coaches.

Nepal Olympic Committee held a board meeting along with Chairpersons of Olympic Commission through zoom chaired by President of NOC/ Member of Parliament Hon. Jeevan Ram Shrestha on September 5, 2020 Saturday. The meeting decided that NOC will do insurance of COVID-19 of All the Olympians, Athletes and Coaches in the Olympic Preparation Program, GA Members, EB and Commission Members of NOC as well as NOC Staff. The Board wished a speedy recovery to Olympian Jeet Bahadur KC who got infected by COVID 19 and also congratulated Secretary General of NOC Mr. Nilendra Raj Shrestha along with 4 other staffs for successfully recovering from COVID 19. Chairman of Medical Commission Dr. Saroj Krishna Shrestha was also given the responsibility of preparing a new safety protocol to resume the office after the lockdown. Lightning claims one, leaves five injured

A woman was killed when lightning struck her in Taplejung district on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Durga Bhattarai of Fungling municipality-10, Furambu. Critically injured Bhattarai died on the way to the district hospital. Meanwhile, five others including two from Tellok and three from Pedang of Sirijunga rural municipality were injured in the lightning strike. Ex-ambassador Richard’s dead body found four months after his disappearance

The dead body of former Ambassador of the United Kingdom for Nepal Richard Morris was found on Monday. British police had intensified the search for diplomat Morris who went missing while he was on morning walk at a park nearby his home at Bentley on last 6 May. Hampshire Police found his dead body at Alice Halt forest where he used to go for physical exercise in a routine manner. Though the dead body is yet to be officially identified the police here have informed his family about the recent development. Earlier, the East Hampshire Police Office had appealed to the general public thrice to support the search for the missing diplomat. Richard Morris served as an ambassador to Nepal from 2015 to 2019. In the recent statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UK, it was noted that Morris was a very significant personality and had been recognized as a person capable of maintaining wider relations as a diplomat.
