DoA trains human resources for rebuilding heritages

The Department of Archaeology (DoA) has developed the human resources for the reconstruction of the heritages. The Department organized 15-day training at Bandipur rural municipality of Tanahu to train the human resources. The training was aimed at readying the workforce required for rebuilding the heritages damaged by the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake. Department’s technician and training coordinator Om Kumar Shrestha said that 45 artisans have been trained for the reconstruction of heritages. Artisans from various districts had participated in the training. The participants were divided into three groups and trained on masonry, woodcraft and stone sculpting, said Krishna Govinda Prajapati, a training instructor. Heritages including temples and monuments were damaged in many districts due to the earthquake. Many of these heritages are still awaiting reconstruction. “Reconstruction of the heritages has not been complete for lack of skilled crafts persons. We have now produced the skilled artisans after the training which will contribute to some extent in the heritage rebuilding works,” Shrestha said. Nepotism in Nepalese Business organizations

-Top Lal Panthi There is a long and varied history of business in Nepal.  In 1936, after the formulation of the Nepal Companies Act, the Biratnagar Jute Mills was established as the first joint-venture industry. A few more government-owned industries were opened in the 1950s and 60s, often with support from China and the then USSR. NCP discusses Dr KC’s hunger strike and cabinet reshuffle

Kathmandu, The Secretariat meeting today of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) discussed about the fast-unto-death staged by Dr Govinda KC and other contemporary issues. At the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, NCP Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that the government was serious about protecting the life of Dr KC and the process for a dialogue has been initiated. The meeting concluded that the problem would be resolved through a dialogue by putting an end to the hunger strike in the current adverse situation of the Corona Virus pandemic.
