Over 2300 online media registered

Kathmandu- Number of online media registered in the country has increased lately. According to the Department of Information and Broadcasts, 478 new online media were registered in the country in the fiscal year 2077/78. In the fiscal year 2075/76, a total of 550 online media were registered and 17 were re-registered. Likewise, 272 got renewed. In the fiscal year 2076/77 BS, total 561 new online media were registered as informed by the Department. 272 were renewed in the fiscal year. As of now total 2,325 online meida have been registered in the country. President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), the online which has emerged as a mainstream media should pay attention towards maintaining trust and credibility. “The quality of some online media is still under question. Some online journalists are found publishing and disseminating news against the code of ethics. It has to be well-regulated with the compliance of ethics”. Likewise, 7,807 print media including dailies, weeklies, fortnightlies, monthly/bi-monthly, quarterlies, semester half-yearly and yearly magazines have been so far registered. Prime Minister Oli submits a written reply to the court

Kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has appeared in person and submitted a written reply to the Supreme Court today on the issue of contempt of court. Accused of murder after rape of Bhagirathi has public

Baitadi: Police have released Dinesh Bhatt, who was arrested on charge of raping and killing 17-year-old Bhagirathi Bhatt in Baitadi Gadakedar Gaonpalika-7. Far-Western Province Police Chief DIG Uttamraj Subedi made the accused public at a press conference held at the District Police Office, Baitadi on Wednesday. Police arrested accused Dinesh Bhatt on Tuesday night. The accused was arrested two weeks after Bhagirathi was raped and murdered. DIG Sujevi informed that Dinesh has been made public as he has already confessed to the crime. Dharmashala to be constructed on temple premises

Foundation stone has been laid for the construction of a Dharmashala – a rest house of pilgrims – on the premises of Rajdevi Temple in Kalaiya submetropolis-1. The structure is under construction at the cost of Rs 1.8 million. Laying the foundation stone, Kalaiya Mayor Rajesh Roy Yadav announced to provide Rs 800,000 on behalf of the sub-metropolis for the first phase construction works. He said construction of the rest house would ease living accommodation of pilgrims coming from far-flung areas for worships.
