PM Oli submits written reply to Supreme Court

Kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli went to the Supreme Court today and submitted a written reply in response to a contempt of court case. The apex court had on January 28 ordered Prime Minister Oli to be physically present and submit within seven days a written reply to the court, stating all the details. According to Surya Thapa, the Prime Minister’s press advisor, the PM Oli has presented the written reply becoming present in the court in person for the respect, reverence and dignity of the Supreme Court. Thapa said the Prime Minister could have only submitted the written reply but he personally came to the court to present the reply out of respect to the court. A single bench of Justice Dr Manoj Sharma had issued order in the name of the Prime Minister to himself submit a written reply within seven days from the date of receipt of the order, stating all the details. Senior advocate Dr. Kumar Sharma Acharya and advocate Kanchan Krishna Neupane had filed a case under contempt of court against the Prime Minister, stating that he created obstruction in the dispensation of justice by giving a statement on a topic of the dissolution of the House of Representatives which was sub-judice in the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench. Ilam- Leader of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Subas Nembang, has urged all to ready for election. Weather forecast: possibility of rainfall beyond afternoon

Kathmandu- The weather will be cloudy with light rainfall occurring at some places of the hilly region including in the Kathmandu Valley due to the influence of the Westerly today. The change in weather beyond the afternoon today is because of the start of pre-monsoon period, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said. Senior meteorologist Meen Kumar Aryal said it will be partly cloudy in the hilly region for two or three days starting from Friday but there is no possibility of heavy rainfall.According to him, the rapid change in weather takes place with the increasing influence of local wind following rise in temperature. P re-monsoon activity generally starts from March and it goes till May. The pre-monsoon is characterized by sunny days and brief rainfall with thunder towards the afternoon or evening. The weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region of the country including Province no 1 and Bagmati province towards the afternoon today with chances of light rainfall at some places of the hilly region and of light snowfall at a few places of the high-hilly and mountainous region. KMC removing structures, construction materials kept at open theatre

Kathmandu- The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started removing the construction materials and the temporary structures from Khula Manch, the open-air-theatre in the heart of the city. Temporary sheds had been built and construction materials kept at the open-air-theatre, in connection with the reconstruction of the Durbar High School, damaged by the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake and new building of the Bir Hospital. The Durbar High School has been rebuilt and the construction of the Bir Hospital’s building has also reached the final stage of completion. So, KMC has started removing the temporary sheds and the construction materials from Khula Manch. KMC spokesperson Ishwor Man Dangol said the temporary structures and construction materials are being removed to clear the space for holding mass rallies and assemblies there after the streets started becoming the venues for holding such rallies and protest demonstrations thereby disturbing the traffic in recent days. Two-year rhino found dead; death tally reaches 25

Chitwan- The deaths of rhinos due to unchecked poaching and natural reasons have seen an ascending trend in the country. A two-year-old endangered female rhino was found dead. Chitwan National Park’s information officer Lokendra Adhikari said the female rhino was found dead inside the Gundrahi Dhakaha buffer zone community forest users’ group at Amaltari in Kawaswoti municipality. He also informed natural reason was preliminary assumed behind the death of the baby rhino. Body samples of the deceased tusker were sent to veterinary section for further investigation into the death, he said. The tusks and hooves of the one-horned rhino however were found safe. In the current fiscal year 2076/77 BS, as many as 25 rhinos including the baby rhino have been so far found dead. Four among them were killed in poaching while remaining 21 died due to natural reasons....
