President takes Sankalpa of Mahashivaratri Pooja; festive fervor grips Pashupatinath

Kathmandu- President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Tuesday took a solemn vow (Sankalpa) of worshipping materials of Mahashivaratri at Sheetal Niwas.

There is time-honored tradition for the Head of the State to take Sankalpa of worshipping materials on the day of Mahashivaratri every year. After the vow-taking, the festive fervor of Mahashivaratri takes momentum across the country.

With this, arrangement has been made for food and fire to the Sadhus thronging to the Pashupatinath Temple premises since Tuesday evening. Chief of Pashupati Goshwara Office Uma Acharya told that food accommodation has been made at Gorakhnath, Ram Temple, Nirmal and Bhashmeswor site of the Pashupati area since this morning while arrangement for holy fire (Dhuni) will be made from this evening.

Likewise, arrangement of food and firewood will be made for Sadhus in the areas of Bairagi, Sanyasi, Udasi and Nath community at Thapathali since this morning. RSS
