Falgun 7 glorious day: Vice President Pun

Kathmandu- Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said Falgun 7 is the glorious day in Nepal’s history.  It marks the establishment of democracy with the end of autocratic Rana regime in 2007 BS, he added. Giving a message of best wishes on the occasion of the Democracy Day today, Vice President Pun said, “The new constitution written by the Constituent Assembly has already established the federal democratic republic, secularism, social justice and proportional representation on the basis of various people’s movements. Democracy Day was celebrated in Tundikhel

Kathmandu- National Democracy Day-2077 BS is being celebrated with various programs across the country today. A special function has been organized at Sainik Manch Tundikhel on Friday in the presence of President Bidyadevi Bhandari. During the program, cannons and guns were raised by the Nepal Army and prayers and remembrance were offered to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for democracy. The program was attended by President Bidyadevi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, heads of constitutional bodies, security agencies, staff and representatives of diplomatic missions. Discussion on for establishment of fertilizer industry: Agriculture Minister

Chitwan- Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Padma Kumari Aryal, has said that the government has been moving ahead in order to provide sufficient amount of fertilizer and seed to farmers. Talking to media persons here today, Minister Aryal shared that the ministry has made a plan in order to resolve fertilizer problems of farmers. COP-26 delegation calls on PM

Kathmandu- A delegation headed by Coordinator of 26th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP-26) organizing committee and British lawmaker, Alok Sharma, called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.  The COP-26 to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is taking place from 1-12 November 2020, in Glasgow, UK. At a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar, on Wednesday, the delegation enquired the PM on climate change impacts in the Himalayan region of Nepal, shared PM’s press adviser Surya Thapa. Thapa further shared the delegation also told PM Oli that the COP-26 was interested to study emerging impacts of climate change in the Himalayan region of Nepal. The delegation further said they were positively taking Nepal’s planning to convene Sagarmatha Dialogue Programme so as to address the issues of climate change. On the occasion, delegation leader Sharma expressed readiness to collaborate with the government to that end, Thapa informed. Woman rescued from Nepal-India bordering area

Kanchanpur- A woman has been rescued from Nepal-India bordering area, Dokebazaar, this morning when she was being taken to India, reportedly for trafficking purpose. Ramdin Dagaura, 35, of Ghodaghodi municipality-5 of Kailali district was taking Sita Luhar, 32, wife of Prem Luhar, of the Ghodaghodi municipality- 1 to India, alluring her.
