World Environment Day: Laxmi Bank re-launches ‘Green Savings Account’
Kathmandu- Laxmi Bank Limited has re-launched its environment friendly green savings account. The bank has informed that Laxmi ‘Green Saving’ has been re-launched on the occasion of the 50th World Environment Day. For this, customers can open online account and avail video-KVC banking services through digital medium, the bank said. In addition, customers can avail not only the highest interest rate of 8.03% but also green banking package (mobile money and internet banking) for free. The bank has informed that the bank will plant one tree for each green saving account to support the ‘Go Green’ campaign as per the commitment of ‘One Account, One Tree’ of Lakshmi Bank. In addition, the deposits collected from the Green Savings Account will be used for disbursement of credit to areas and activities under the Sustainable Development Goals including renewable energy, green transport, sustainable food, agriculture, forestry, waste management and greenhouse gas reduction. Through this initiative, Laxmi Bank will continue its sustainable commitment to ‘Orange Loves Green’. Under this commitment, the Bank has also joined ABB (Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financial). Through this partnership, the bank will formally (a) measure its carbon emissions and (b) adopt goals and policies consistent with national commitments that will advance the bank’s net-zero journey.
