Kathmandu- Pokhara India and Nepal have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in the power sector during the 13th meeting of the Joint Steering Committee (JSC) on Power Sector Cooperation, held in Pokhara on Tuesday.
The meeting was co-chaired by Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India, and Ms. Sarita Dawadi, Secretary, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Government of Nepal. It was preceded by the 13th Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting on July 14, co-chaired by Shri Pankaj Kumar, Joint Secretary (Transmission), Ministry of Power, India, and Mr. Sandip Kumar Dev, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Nepal.
During the meetings, both sides conducted a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation in the power sector, focusing on hydropower development, cross-border electricity trade, and transmission infrastructure.
