Kathmandu- Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava met Rajendra Dawadi, Principal of Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School in Bidur, Nuwakot, and praised his timely action that helped save the lives of more than 1,600 students before the recent flash flood struck the school.
The sudden flood swept through the area and caused significant damage to the school. However, Principal Dawadi had taken precautionary measures in time, ensuring that the students were moved to safety before the disaster occurred.
During the meeting, Ambassador Srivastava appreciated Dawadi’s leadership and presence of mind in protecting the students during the emergency.
According to the Embassy of India, the school’s new building was constructed in 2022 with grant assistance from the Government of India under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP).
The two also discussed the damage caused to the school by the flood, the safety of students and the situation following the disaster.
The meeting highlighted the importance of timely decision-making, preparedness and effective leadership in protecting communities during natural disasters.
