Kathmandu- Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi and signed the condolence book, expressing deep condolences over the loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by the flash floods in Nepal.
On behalf of the Government and people of India, Singh conveyed his deepest sympathies to the people and Government of Nepal. He also expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
Singh noted that the disaster had affected Nepali citizens as well as foreign nationals, including Indian nationals.
Describing India and Nepal as close friends and partners and “Sukh Dukh Ke Saathi”—partners in good times and bad—Singh said India stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Nepal during this difficult time.
He further assured that India remains committed to supporting Nepal’s ongoing search, rescue and rehabilitation efforts following the devastating floods.
