Diplomacy: Creating More Choices for Nepal
Ms Bandana Karki Nepal has begun to reopen its diplomatic space. The next challenge is to turn that engagement into investment, jobs, trade, security and greater national capability. Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s recent one-to-one meetings with the ambassadors of India and China mark an important opening in Nepal’s diplomatic engagement. After several months of avoiding individual meetings with resident ambassadors, Shah met Indian Ambassador Naveen Srivastava and Chinese Ambassador Zhang Maoming on August 10.
