Visit Nepal 2020: Sindhupalchok to have 60 feet hill station in Lisankhupakhar

Chautara, Feb 26: A 60 feet-tall hill station tower will be constructed at Lisangkhupakhar rural municipality in Sindhupalchok district in a bid to attract as many as tourists targeting Visit Nepal Year, 2020. The Bagmati state government will provide Rs 88 million for the project and its deadline is two years. A detailed project report of the project has been prepared, said Kamal Nepal, chairperson of the rural municipality. A children park, a picnic spot, lodges and a garden will also be constructed at the project site spanning around 40 ropanis of land, he said. Minister for Tourism, Industry, Forest and Environment of the state, Arun Nepal recently laid the foundation stone for the project amid a function. At an altitude of 2,500 meters above sea level, one can view Sailung, Kalinchok Temple, Gaurishankar mountain peak and Jugal mountain range from the site. Likewise, one can catch view of Dolakha, various areas of Sindhupalchok, Ramechhap, Okhaldhunga and Kavrepalanchok. Dhakal fields his candidacy for Senior Vice President of FNCCI

NC President Deuba denies his involvement in leasing out Nepal Trust’s land

Kathmandu, Feb 26: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has clarified that there was no government decision made regarding leasing out the land owned by the Nepal Trust during his leadership. Issuing a press statement here Wednesday, leader Deuba expressed his disagreement at the rumors doing rounds in the wake of issuance of the white paper of the Trust on Tuesday, which claimed that some of the Trust’s land were leased out while he was the Prime Minister. Expressing his qualm over mentioning of his name in those decisions of the Trust made without his knowledge or involvement during his leadership, the former Prime Minister denied his involvement in this matter. “The Nepal Trust Act-2064 BS defines the Nepal Trust as an autonomous organization whose decisions are made by its board members and certain bureaucrats. Hence, it is politically as well as legally inappropriate to claim my involvement in the decisions of the Trust regarding the leasing out of the land, ” read the statement. NCP secretariat requests govt to recommend Gautam In NA

The Secretariat meeting of the Nepal Communist party (NCP) has decided to make party’s vice-chair Bamdev Gautam as National Assembly member. The meeting held at the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar today took the decision in this regard, said Spokesperson of the NCP, Narayankaji Shrestha. Shrestha informed that the meeting decided to request the government to appoint Gautam to the post, to be nominated by the President at the recommendation of the cabinet. Lawmakers have drawn attention of the government towards various contemporary issues in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR).
