Nepal’s Target should be on Olympics medal : Vice President Pun

Kathmandu: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said that Nepal should create a medal target situation in the Olympics. Speaking at the main event of Olympic Day 2021 organized by the Nepal Olympic Committee, he stressed on the need for the Nepali sports sector to plan accordingly. He also pointed out, the need for a review of the performance of Nepali athletes in the Olympics so far. Pointing to the reason for organizing the event on Wednesday, he addressed, ‘This is a great day for the world sports sector. The history of the Olympics is the height of human civilization as a whole.’ During the program, Vice President Pun and Chairman of the Committee Jiwan Ram Shrestha jointly hoisted the flag of the International Olympic Committee. A group of Olympic athletes led by Olympian Mukunda Shrestha also handed over the Olympic torch to Pun, who participated in the program as the chief guest. The program is organized by the Nepal Olympic Committee and coordinated by Sports for All Commission. Commission Chairman Bishnu Gopal Shrestha highlighted the importance of Olympic Deco on the occasion. Ward member dies after falling off a cliff

Jajarkot – Ward member of Bheri municipality-2, Sushila Nepali, who sustained injuries after falling off a cliff, died on the way to hospital for treatment last night. Indian Embassy celebrated 7th International Yoga Day

Kathmandu: The Embassy of India has concluded the program of the 7th International Yoga Day under the India@75 ‘Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The program, which concluded on Sunday with the slogan ‘Be With Yoga , Be At Home’, was designed to practice yoga in a standard manner and also demonstrated various ‘common yoga practice procedures’ of yoga approved by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The yoga practice presented by yoga guru Shri Loknath Khanal was also broadcast live on Facebook. Apart from this, the embassy had organized a virtual essay writing and video blogging competition with the aim of making the program more useful. People tell us they’re stressed out from greater work load and having to work longer hours, some talk about the lack of job stability and non-payment for the job due to pandemic, some says that it is stress due to isolation and non-gathering of peoples so it became a pervasive issue in today’s society. Stress is a global public health problems with several negative health consequences, anxiety, depression, cardio vascular diseases and suicide. Continuous stress may lead to the unproductive rumination that consumes energy and reinforces the experience of stress itself. Stress has been linked to auto, immune diseases migraines, obesity muscles tension and backache, high cholesterol, coronary heart diseases, hypertension stroke and other quality of life issue that affect humans.
