Kathmandu – NMB Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Information Technology (DoIT), Government of Nepal, to integrate its services with the government’s Nagarik App, aiming to deliver a faster, safer, and more seamless digital banking experience.

Under the partnership, NMB Bank customers will soon be able to securely auto-fill their verified personal information into online banking application forms directly through the Nagarik App. The integration is expected to eliminate repetitive manual data entry, reduce paperwork, and significantly speed up the processing of everyday banking services.

The bank stated that the new system is built on a strict consent-based data-sharing model, ensuring that customer information is accessed only after explicit authorization through the Nagarik App at the time of the transaction.

According to NMB Bank, customer privacy and data security remain the highest priorities. The bank will not be able to access, view, or use any personal information without the customer’s direct consent, and only the information required for the requested banking service will be processed.

The collaboration marks a significant milestone in NMB Bank’s digital transformation journey by leveraging Nepal’s growing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). The bank believes the integration will make banking services more secure, accessible, efficient, and hassle-free for customers.

NMB Bank added that the partnership also supports the Government of Nepal’s broader digitalization efforts by strengthening the integration between public digital platforms and financial services, paving the way for a more connected digital ecosystem.
