Humla schools supported

Humla – Two community schools in Kharpunath Rural Municipality, Humla district have received technical assistance from Good Neighbours International and Karnali Integrated Rural Development and Research Centre (KIRDRC), Nepal. Sita Secondary School and Malika Secondary School have obtained computers meant for their quality enhancement and motivate the students towards new technology under the Education Programme launched by KIRDRC with the financial support from Good Neighbours International. The computers and IT materials worth Rs 1 million were distributed to the two schools located in the central belt of the district. Humla district coordinator of Good Neighbours International Man Kumar Rai said 10 computers and one projector to Malika Secondary School and eight computers and one projector were given Sita Secondary School. Suspension bridge awaiting repair

Baitadi – A suspension bridge at Surnaya Rural Municipality in Baitadi has been in dilapidated condition risking lives of people crossing it, but authorities concerned are less concerned. The bridge is the only means for crossing the Doleshwor river. Mohan Bahadur Bista, a local, said that the wooden planks of the bridge are decaying. Movements of the local people have been affected with the bridge in deteriorating condition since there is no other way to cross the river during monsoon, said Prakash Bhatt, another local resident. NC senior leader bats for protecting political achievements and federalism

Lisbon (Portugal) –  Nepali Congress senior leader Ramchandra Poudel has underlined the need of moving ahead by protecting the achievements of political movements. In his address to an interaction progrmme on ‘implementation of federalism in Nepal, challenges and the role of Nepali Congress,’ on Thursday at Lisbon of Portugal, he was of the view that federalism and democracy achieved through a long struggle must be safeguarded. He went on saying that the party would move ahead by institutionalizing democracy and federalism. The party activities would be focused on the safeguarding of achievements and changes made so far. Sharing his experiences on the course of his political struggle for change in the nation and for people’s justice, Poudel said he had spent 14 years of his life in jail, adding his struggle was not for power. School guardians set up fund to run school

Rolpa – Guardians of Saraswati basic school in Ghuswang of Sunachahari rural municipality-1 have set up a fund of Rs. 5.1 million in order to upgrade the standard of the school. The school is presently running in temporary huts on a river bank. Founded in 2017 B.S., the school currently runs classes up to Grade 8. Constitution amendment main agenda of RJP-Nepal: Leader Mahato

Nepalgunj –  Member of Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal Presidium, Rajendra Mahato, has said that constitution amendment was the main agenda of the party. Talking to media persons in Nepalgunj, leader Mahato said that the Constitution has failed to address the rights of Madhesi, Dalits and indigenous communities as it was incomplete. Leader Mahato further said that they are not going to observe the Constitution Day as a festival since the constitution was not timely revised. Recalling that they launched agitation for six months, demanding constitution amendment, he said they have supported the incumbent government from outside as constitution amendment was the main agenda of the party rather than joining the government.
