Condolence meet to commemorate Adhikari’s contributions

The Village Service Trust has said the passing away of its founder Chairperson Bhim Bahadur Adhikari has caused an irreparable loss to the entire country. Founder chair and social activist Adhikari died of diabetes in Kathmandu on Thursday. He was 90. He was an inhabitant of Bhanu municipality-12, Mirlung in Tanahun district. At a condolence meet organized by the Trust at Damauli on Thursday, the late Adhikari’s personality and contributions were discussed. Trust’s vice-chair Tara Prasad Shrestha presided over the condolence meet. The late Adhikari had established the organization in 2033 BS. After taking retirement from deputy secretary of the Ministry of Finance, he served the Arrears Settlement Monitoring and Evaluation Committee as a member-secretary. It is shared that Bhim Bahadur Adhikari had contributed to design the scheme of social security allowance brought out by the then Prime Minster Manmohan Adhikari. Three held with 11-kg hashish

Nepal Police have busted three people with three kilograms of contraband hashish from Bhimdutta municipality-3, Bhashi of Kanchanpur. A joint team from Nepal Police Drug Control Bureau Section Office Bhimduttanagar and District Police Office on Thursday arrested maker Dhami, 38, and Gopal Dhami, 35, of Kedarasyu rural municipality-6, Bajhang and Jaya Bahadur Dhami, 23, of Bungal municipality-2, Bajhang. Leopard kills minor

A leopard has killed a baby girl in Pokhara. The wild beast attacked and killed nine-year-old Puja BK of Pokhara metropolis-32, Kothegaun on Thursday night, shared Police Inspector at District Police Office Kaski Narahari Adhikari. Her parents Deepak and Apsara BK had immediately searched for Puja after she did not return home till the evening. Police personnel and locals had intensified the search for the missing girl. Inspector General of Armed Police Force (APF) Shailendra Khanal has conferred insignia on five newly promoted officials. Concept paper of ‘National youth vision-2025’ unveiled

The National Youth Policy Review and Youth Vision-2025 taskforce has made public its concept paper. Unveiling the concept paper amidst a programme on Thursday, Chairperson of Youth Development Centre Arun Khadka stressed the need to mainstream youth in the development efforts of the country.
