Implementation Workshop on GoI funded post-earthquake projects in education sector

Kathmandu, Feb 18:  The Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, India organised a workshop on post- earthquake reconstruction of schools and other educational facilities in Nepal on 18 th February, 2020 in Kathmandu. The workshop was organised in collaboration with Central Level Project Implementation Unit (Education), Government of Nepal. The workshop was attended by relevant stakeholders such as officials of CLPIU (Education) and DLPIU (Education), Government of Nepal, contractors and site engineers to pave the way for effective project implementation covering the aspects of Project Execution Guidelines, Good Construction Practices, Monitoring and Reporting to achieve best quality of construction. The workshop aimed to provide best practices for delivering End to End construction management at all stages of the project – pre- construction, construction and post-construction. The function was attended by Mr Choodamani Paudel, Project Director, CLPIU (Education) and Mr Dilip Shrestha, Dy. PD, CLPIU (Edu.). Senior officials from National Reconstruction Authority and Embassy of India also graced the occasion. 1. Government of India is supporting reconstruction of 70 schools and one library as part of its post-earthquake assistance in the education sector. State Minister Dugad urges to invest in Nepal’s agro, tourism sectors

Kathmandu, Feb 18: Minister of State for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Motilal Dugad, has met with Minister for Energy and Industry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Muazrouei. State Minister Dugad left here for Dubai on Saturday in course of preparation for the Expo-2020 going to be organised for six months from coming October 20 to April 10, 2021. The main motto of the expo is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’. Expo 2020 is a World Expo to be hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Bagmati State distributing truck, tractors and pick-up vans to farmers

Hetauda, Feb 18: The Bagmati State Government is to distribute truck, tractors and pick-up vehicles to the farmers practicing farming in big plot of land and producing large amount of agricultural produce. The Agricultural Development Directorate Hetauda under the ministry of the land management, agriculture and cooperatives of the State Government has stated that it would also distribute large agricultural implements to the farmers. The State Government would distribute transport truck, tractor and pick-up van with 50 percent investment of farmers. In this connection, the Directorate has also selected the names of 13 farmers throughout the State who will be receiving the State grant. Among the selected farmers, eight will get pick-up trucks, two farmers will get tractors and three carrier trucks. Director of the Directorate Rabindra Bahadur Pradhan said this measure by the State Government is for encouraging the farmers to make them self-sufficient in agricultural products. MCC capable of serving Nepal’s interest: RPP chair Thapa

Rupandehi, Feb 18: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chair Kamal Thapa has said the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) related to the US assistance is in the interest of Nepal.
