No meaning of spreading rumor giving political colour: Minister Banskota

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Banskota, has said that he would give information in detail about the charge against him after returning Kathmandu. “I am ready to face punishment if the blame is proved,” said Minister Banskota. The Minister was referring to an audio-clip in which he is reportedly heard asking for 700 million in commission from an agent of a business firm. At a cadres’ gathering organised at Beldandi rural municipality this morning, he said, “There is no meaning to spread rumor giving it a political colour.” The Communications Minister argued that reactionary forces would be defeated if works in favour of people are carried out. He mentioned, “Blame itself is not a big issue. Charges are levelled day by day while running the government.” Banskota, who inaugurated newly constructed building of Nepal Telecom Office at Belauri, Kanchanpur, today, argued that Telecom’s ‘4G’ project would be brought into operation in all districts within a year as per government’s commitment. Nepal-Bangladesh economic relations to be strengthened: Minister Gyawali

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has said Nepal and Bangladesh have agreed to further strengthen two-country economic relations. Upon his return home following a three-day official visit to Bangladesh on Wednesday, Minister Gyawali shared with the media that they agreed to promote and expand energy and trade. “Substantive discussion with the Bangladeshi foreign minister was held to strengthen friendly relations. Agreement was made on bilateral trade promotion, identification of area for trade, clearance of hurdles, increase in exportable goods,” he said, adding that Bangladesh was positive for more convenient transit. Als0 agreed during the meeting were expansion of connectivity between the two countries, arrangement of direct flight between the cities of the two countries, upgrading of the roadways, rail network, river linking and development of water ways, Minister Gyawali added. Bangladesh has decided to augment investment in Nepal’s energy, agriculture and tourism sectors. During the visit, Gyawali requested the Bangladeshi government to send tourists to Nepal as the country was marking Visit Nepal Year 2020. Westerly wind affects weather, possibility of light rain

The weather will remain generally cloudy in most of the places of the country due to the influence of the Westerly wind with chances of light rain in some places of the hilly region today. The Meteorological Forecasting Division said the Westerly wind entered the country from the western region of the country Tuesday. Meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti stated the weather is partly to generally cloudy in the Far-west region and other hilly areas. She added that the haze that took place over the last few days would disappear after the Westerly wind is active. “The smog that had been occurring in the past few days will dissipate with the activeness of the Westerly wind. It will be gone from Saturday gradually,” Nagarkoti said. The weather will be generally cloudy on Thursday and Saturday as well with chances of light rain in some places of the hilly region. Jumla exports 61 types of herbs

Jumla district has exported 183,131 kilograms herbs of different 61 types in the first six months of the current fiscal year. According to the District Forest Division Office Ranger Khadka Mahatale, revenue around Rs 1.66 million was generated from the export of herbs and herbal products. Revenue Rs 490,695 was generated from woods and 183 community forests have come into operation after getting registered with the office, the division office informed.
