Allo masks manufacturing begins in local market

The manufacturing of re-usable masks has initiated in Dang following shortage of medicated masks. Various groups here have started manufacturing re-useable masks after shortage of masks with the spreading menace of coronavirus. Lamahi is producing masks made up of cotton garment while Ghorahi is manufacturing masks made up of allo – a weaving thread. The allo-weaved masks have been made available in market now. Each mask prices Rs 80. Local people also have started manufacturing masks after its shortage at local market. The health facilities including state hospital Tulsipur and Rapti Life Care Hospital Tulsipur have also started using locally-manufactured masks for internal purpose. Likewise, masks made up of raw garments are also being made available at Lamahi market in Deukhuri. Doctors have also prescribed that the locally-produced masks can be used for a month after daily wash. Lately the trend of wearing masks has increased among school students, government employees, entrepreneurs and general public in Dang. Even children, youths and elderly people have started wearing masks to get prevented from the infection of coronavirus. Local consumers have sighed relief after availability of allo-made masks at local market. Free dialysis service in Beni hospital

Regular dialysis service is to be rendered to kidney patients at Beni Hospital in the headquarters of Myagdi district. The hospital will begin free of cost dialysis service from 14 March after the Gandaki state minister for social development provided necessary equipments along with budget for the service delivery. Bel Bahadur Katwal, chair, Beni hospital management committee, said a hemodialysis unit has been set up at the hospital with six machines. In order to regularize the service, the state government has provided four machines while Diaspora (Prabasi) Myagdi has aided two machines, he shared. He further informed that the human resource including doctors, staff nurse and assistant health workers has been already managed at the unit. Three beds will be brought into operation in the first phase, he said. Arrangement has been made in a way to provide daily dialysis services to 12 patients in two shifts, he further shared. Bomb detonated at ex-Communication Minster Baskota’s home

A powerful bomb was detonated at the newly-constructed house of former Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Baskota. A pressure cooker bomb went off at the house of Baskota at Madhyapurthimi municiplaity-1, Lokanthali Manohara at around 7.40 this morning. According to Deputy Superintendant of Police at Metropolitan Police Circle, Shanti Raj Koirala, the explosion caused partial damage to the wall and glass of the house of former minster. The glasses of a private van (Ba 19 Cha 4781) were also broken in the incident, he further informed. The bomb explosion also smashed the window panes of the houses of Kuver KC and Kapil Ghimire which are adjacent to the house of the ex-minister. DSP Koirala said investigation into the incident of bomb detonation is underway. The incident took place at a time when there was no security patrol in the area this morning, locals said. No information has been obtained who detonated the pressure cooker bomb at the ex-minster’s house, police said. According to eye-witness, there was big noise when the bomb went off targeting the house of Baskota. Tourism Minister Bhattarai & Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi talk on Corona Prevention

KATHMANDU, March 10: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi, and Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai recently held a meeting on issues related to Corona virus infection, its control, preventive measures and prior preparation at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Tuesday. Ambassador Yanqi said that out of the 80,900 Corona virus patients, 59,000 Chinese have returned home following their treatment. Country’s largest solar system to come into operation by mid-May

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is preparing to produce electricity from the country’s largest solar plant system based in Nuwakot district in the next two months. The construction of the 25-MW solar plant has neared the completion and the NEA plans to produce energy within mid-May as per the energy mix concept. Works are on the progress to produce the 15 MW electricity, out of the total 25, by mid-May, the NEA said. The plant has been placed in the land in the name of NEA-owned Devighat Electricity Center and power to be generated from it will be directly connected to the national grid.
