Karki wins Ang Tshiring Memorial Golf Tournament,  Joshi wins KIA Sonet Car 

Kathmandu – Sunil Karki won the Ang Tshiring Sherpa Memorial Golf Tournament here at Gokarna Forest Resort on Saturday. Karki playing with 18 handicap, scored 41 points to clinch the trophy and Breakfast for four person at Yeti Mountain Home Kongde including helicopter ride on Air Dynasty. Suman Joshi made a hole in one on the 10th hole to create a history in Nepal by winning a car in a tournament. He received a KIA Sonet car, after his ball found the cup at 165 yards hole. Zambia appoints Basnet as Zambia’s Honorary Consul in Nepal

The High Commission of the Republic of Zambia in India presented a decision to appoint a Nepalese Business Leader, Er. Desh Bandhu Basnet, as Zambia’s Honorary Consul in Nepal. The appointment was announced by Her Excellency Mrs. Judith K.K. Kan’goma Kapijimpanga, the Ambassador of Zambia to India in a sparkling ceremony held in Embassy with the consular jurisdiction over Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur) to handle the Consular and Economics issues on behalf of the Republic of Zambia. Her Excellency handover the letter of commission, national flag, and the seal of the office to Mr. Basnet. Government and Chand-led group seal three-point agreement

Kathmandu- A three-point agreement has been signed between the government and the Netra Bikram Chand-led group in order to resolve all political matters through the medium of talks. Issuing a joint press release today, coordinator of government talks team, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, and coordinator of talks team of Chand-led group, Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma, today informed in this regard. With the agreement, the Chand-led group would run all its activities peacefully and the ban imposed by the government on its activities has been lifted. The press release mentioned about the lifting of the ban imposed upon activities of Chand-led group, releasing its all detainees and withdrawing the case. Details of the agreement would be made public on Friday (at 2pm) amid a special function, according to the deal. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the group’s general secretary Chand are scheduled to address the event. Earlier on Wednesday, there was a series of dialogues between the group and the government talks team at Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar. Separate talks committees led by minister Thapa from the government and Bishwokarma from the group’s side were made public on Tuesday. Youth role crucial for checking wildlife hunting

Nawalpur- Various stakeholders have highlighted a crucial role of youths in checking wildlife hunting and poaching. Speakers said this at a programme organized at Devchuli municipality of Nawalpur to mark the World Wildlife Day with the ‘Forest and Livelihood: Sustaining People and Planet”. They called for youths to be proactive for the prevention and control of wildlife poaching and smuggling. On the occasion, Chairperson of Siswar Buffer Zone Users’ Committee, Netra Bahadur Pandey said sustainable livelihood can be ensured with the proper use of forest and bio-diversity. He stressed the need to conserve wildlife as the ornament of the country. Likewise, chairperson of Community-based Wildlife Poaching and Smuggling Control Youth Awareness Campaign, Dhundiraj KC said those involved in wildlife smuggling are in the age below 40. According to the data received from Chitwan National Park’s Crime Investigation Section, 90 percent people arrested on charge of their involvement in wildlife poaching are below 40 years. Against the backdrop, the youths should be imparted with conservation literacy to mobilize them in the bid to prevent and control wildlife poaching. It may be noted that the Chitwan National Park administration has recently arrested those allegedly involved in the killing of a one-horned rhino from different areas.
