Muglin- Kumar Gurung of Ichhakamana rural municipality-5, Muglin of Chitwan has initiated a journey from district’s highest hilltop Siraichuli to Sagarmatha. He has started the mission from Siraichuli to world’s highest peak Sagarmatha for the promotion of tourism in Chitwan and familiarizing the rural municipality. Gurung shared that his journey started Sunday with a view to hoisting flags depicting the logo of different tourism sites of Chitwan. He expressed his confidence that the journey would make publicity of the rural municipality and tourism hotspots of Chitwan. Siraichuli is located at an altitude of 1,945 meters from the sea level. Campaign coordinator Kriti Kumar Shrestha shared that the campaign started to reach atop the Mount Everest from Siraichuli on Sunday. Meanwhile, the rural municipality has bade a farewell to Gurung amidst a programme on Sunday. Makawanpur- An elderly woman was killed when a fire burnt down her house at Bhimphedi Rural Municipality in Makawanpur district today morning. The deceased has been identified as Hasta Maya Sintan, 69. A fire in local forest at the rural municipality ward no 3 spread to and caught the house and a cowshed of Sintan reducing them to cinders, said the police. At least 10 goats, food grains and clothing were destroyed in the blaze, said the local people. Body of Sintan was sent to Hetauda Hospital for a postmortem....

Parbat- Youths of Kushma Municipality in Parbat have been attracted to fishery. Fishery is gradually thriving in Wari Ambot, Dobilla, Pakuwa, Chuwa, Khurkot and Pang. The grant from the government, farmers’ hardship and labour have led to the rise in fishery. Modikhola and Kaligandaki River banks are used for raising fish. According to municipality’s livestock service section chief Mitralal Sapkota, the number of people engaged in commercial fishery has reached 40 in the district. The municipality is assisting youths back to home from abroad due to Covid-19 crisis and other reasons to purse self-employment opportunities. Sapkota said fishery is becoming the choice of youths in the locality. The local government assists in pond constructions and distribution of fries. On Friday, it distributed fries to 22 farmers. Each got 500 to 5,000 fries on demand basis. Farmer Devi Chhetri said they were motivated with the local government assistance. ‘I supplied fish worth Rs 150 thousands during the lockdown,” Chhetri shared. Mayor Ramchandra Joshi said the municipality had decided to lend helping hands to farmers following its increasing attraction. “We have planned to come up with programmes to further promote it,’ he added....
