Fire destroys property worth Rs 1.5 million

Udaypur- A fire that engulfed the house of Hira Tamang of Tapli rural municipality-4, Thanpokhari destroyed the property worth Rs 1.5 million. According to the District Police Office, the fire that spread from the shed on Sunday evening had also damaged the house of Tamang. Minister Ale provides financial support to injured rhino enumerator

Kathmandu- Minister for Forests and Environment, Prem Bahadur Ale has provided Rs. 100 thousand to 35-year-old Binod Shrestha who was critically injured in course of conducting a rhino count. The National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) employee was injured after he fell down from an elephant he was riding when a wild elephant called Dhrube pursued it in course of the rhino census in Chitwan National Park on April 2. Minister Ale provided the assistance for Shrestha’s medical treatment from his personal side. He handed over the amount to Shrestha at local HAMS Hospital where he is being treated, said Rabin Gyalan, the Minister’s personal secretary. On the occasion, Minister Ale informed that the Ministry will bear Shrestha’s all medical expenses. Campaign starts from Siraichuli to Sagarmatha for tourism promotion

Muglin- Kumar Gurung of Ichhakamana rural municipality-5, Muglin of Chitwan has initiated a journey from district’s highest hilltop Siraichuli to Sagarmatha. He has started the mission from Siraichuli to world’s highest peak Sagarmatha for the promotion of tourism in Chitwan and familiarizing the rural municipality. Gurung shared that his journey started Sunday with a view to hoisting flags depicting the logo of different tourism sites of Chitwan. Dr. Rawal appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences

Karnali- Dr Mangal Rawal has been appointed as the Vice-chancellor of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS). Prime Minister and Chancellor KP Sharma Oli appointed Dr Rawal to the post. The appointment was made as per the recommendation of a recommendation committee coordinated by Minister for Health and Population and Pro-Chancellor of the KAHS, Hridayesh Tripathi. The committee had recommended the names of Prof Dr Resham Rana and Associate Professor Dr. Pujan Kumar Rokaya along with Dr. Rawal for the post. The position had remained vacant after the term of its vice-chancellor Prof Dr. Rajendra Raj Wagle expired on 28 February 2020. Elderly woman killed in fire in Makawanpur

Makawanpur- An elderly woman was killed when a fire burnt down her house at Bhimphedi Rural Municipality in Makawanpur district today morning. The deceased has been identified as Hasta Maya Sintan, 69. A fire in local forest at the rural municipality ward no 3 spread to and caught the house and a cowshed of Sintan reducing them to cinders, said the police. At least 10 goats, food grains and clothing were destroyed in the blaze, said the local people. Body of Sintan was sent to Hetauda Hospital for a postmortem....
