Hams Hospital becoming first to start ‘Emergency Nursing Training’ from private sector

Kathmandu: Dhumbara-based Hams Hospital is going to start ‘Emergency Nursing Training’. Considering the need for emergency training for nurses who are on duty at all times in the field of public health, Hams is going to start a three-month ‘Emergency Nursing Training’. The training will enhance the professional skills and knowledge of the nurses and make the treatment received by the patients more quality, said Varuna Poudel, director of nursing at the hospital. She says, ‘Since there are different types of patients coming to the emergency department, the treatment is determined based on the treatment they receive in the beginning. Therefore, our main objective is to provide quality nursing services by expanding the knowledge and professional skills of the nurses working in this department. ‘ He said that the interested nurses should have applied for this within 25 February. According to him, the training will be provided to 30 nurses in the first phase of the training which will be started from April 20 in collaboration with the Society of Emergency Nurses of Nepal. Indian Army Celebrated 74th Day 

Kathmandu- The Defense Division of the Indian Embassy in Nepal organized an event on the occasion of the 74th Army Day of India. General Prabhu Ram Sharma, Commander-in-Chief of Nepal and Honorary Veteran of the Indian Army, were the chief guest at the event. The ceremony was attended by former Chief of Army Staff of Nepal, retired army officers, officials of diplomatic circles, officials of the Government of Nepal, members of the think tank and journalists. On the occasion, Excellency Mr. Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Ambassador of India to Nepal, recalled the deep historical sign between the Indian and  Nepal Army connecting the two countries in fraternal relations. Expressing gratitude for the selfless service and sacrifices made by the Gurkha soldiers in the Indian Army, he pledged that India would work for the welfare of the pensioners of the Indian Army and their families in Nepal. Panday Wins Pepsi Open Golf Trophy

Kathmandu- Bhairaja Pandey won the title of Pepsi Open Golf Tournament here at Gokarna Golf Club. Panday playing with 11 handicap allowance was tied with Vijay Shrestha Einhaus and Tendi Sherpa at 36 points, he won the title on the count back after scoring 19 on the back nine whereas Einhaus scored 17 and Sherpa got 16. Vijay Shrestha Einhaus playing with scratch (zero) handicap settled with nett runner-up. Sadbhav Acharya won the best gross title with 37 gross points, he also bagged most birdies award after making five birdies. Tendi Sherpa was winner among seniors (60 years and above) with 36 points. Kashmira Shah bagged the ladies section trophy with 32 points and Rekha Ghimire was runner-up with 28 points. Arshya Basnyat was junior winner with the score of 39 points. Kathmandu- The Nepal Chemists & Druggists Association has said that one should not forget one’s dignity while doing business. Experts participating in the first and second annual general meetings of the Kathmandu branch of the association held on Saturday stressed on the importance of not forgetting business dignity and religion for one’s momentary gain. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest of the program and Senior Drug Manager of the Department, Santosh KC said, ‘The bond between citizens and pharmacist are very special. That’s why it is against the business dignity to misuse antibiotics for their own short-term gain.’ Stating that, recently antibiotics are being sold and distributed arbitrarily in Nepal and that it has jeopardized the health of the common people, he urged all pharmacists not to sell antibiotics without a doctor’s prescription. Kathmandu: The World Health Organization (WHO), South-East Asia has unveiled an app to get rid of tobacco addiction. The WHO has launched an app called ‘Quit Tobacco App’ to help tobacco users get rid of their addiction. The app was launched as part of the WHO’s one-year ‘Commit to Quit’ campaign for tobacco control.
