Kathmandu – The Embassy of India in Kathmandu marked the 23rd Golden Jubilee Scholarship Day with the participation of nearly 200 scholarship recipients. Key dignitaries, including Dr. Dev Raj Adhikari, Chairman of the University Grants Commission, and vice chancellors from several Nepali universities, graced the event.

Ambassador of India to Nepal,  Naveen Srivastava, awarded the second batch of meritorious scholars with the Ambassador’s Golden Jubilee Scholarship Roll of Honour. In his address, Ambassador Srivastava congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to excel in their fields, emphasizing opportunities in India’s startup ecosystem and collaborative initiatives.

Launched in 2002 to commemorate 50 years of India-Nepal economic ties, the Golden Jubilee Scholarship has supported over 3,500 Nepali students from all 77 districts of Nepal. This year, the scholarship has expanded to 200 recipients, including students from diverse fields and 3 differently-abled students.

The scholarship program highlights the strengthening of educational cooperation between India and Nepal, contributing to human resource development and fostering bilateral ties.
