Kathmandu – On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the Indian Cultural Centre in Nepal organized a grand cultural evening and an alumni gathering. The event was graced by the presence of the former President of Nepal, Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, as the chief guest.

The celebration featured vibrant musical and dance performances by current ICCR scholars and alumni, celebrating the enduring friendship between India and Nepal. Former ICCR scholars also shared their personal stories, reflecting on the inspirational role ICCR played in shaping their academic journeys and professional growth.

In his address, Chief Guest Dr. Yadav recalled his time in India as an ICCR scholar and expressed deep appreciation for the centuries-old historical, civilizational, and cultural ties between the two countries. Marking the occasion, Dr. Yadav also planted a Tanki tree sapling within the premises of the Indian Embassy as a symbol of India-Nepal friendship.

The Indian Ambassador to Nepal emphasized ICCR’s significant contribution in strengthening cultural and people-to-people ties between India and Nepal, reaffirming the embassy’s continued commitment to promoting such initiatives in the future.

The event served as a vibrant reminder of the deep-rooted historical bond between the two nations and conveyed a strong message of cultural exchange for future generations.
