Kathmandu – SAARC CCI and the Chengdu Institute of Standardization have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

SAARC CCI and Chengdu Institute of Standardization reached a deal during the 2024 Sichuan-South Asia and Southeast Asia Business Development Conference. It was signed by Chandiraj Dhakalal, Acting President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI), representing Nepal.

According to the agreement, economic and trade exchange, industrial and personnel cooperation will be promoted between Chengdu and South Asian countries.

Speaking at the 3-day program in the presence of top businessmen from South Asia and Southeast Asia, SAARC CCI emphasized the need to strengthen economic relations. He said that South Asia is the largest market in the world in terms of size and capacity.

He said that the conference will provide many investable opportunities with untapped natural, social and economic resources. However, he said, South Asia is facing many challenges such as weak technical infrastructure.

For this, by sharing the prosperity of South Asia and South East Asia trade, he emphasized on the economic and commercial promotion of the participating countries.

Representing Nepal in the event, along with President Dhakal, Vidur Municipality Mayor Rajan Shrestha, Anup Bhattarai and others were present.
