Kathmandu – South Asian Regional Cooperation Organization (SAARC) businessmen have agreed to continue cooperation in the economic sector.

The meeting of the 82nd executive committee of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry has presented the idea that cooperation in the economic and commercial fields should be intensified, while resuming the political activities and mutual disagreements of SAARC, which have been suspended for a few years.

Addressing the program, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal thanked the businessmen saying that the SAARC Industry and Commerce Association had tried to fill its vacancy when there was a slowdown in the activities of SAARC.

Similarly, Vice President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry and former President of Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chandiraj Dhakal, expressed the view that the youth workforce in South Asia is unmatched in any region of the world.

Foreign Minister Saud pledged the government’s support to advance the activities of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while SAARC Secretary General Sarbar said that SAARC Day will be celebrated with the Chamber in the coming year.

He said that all the representatives agreed that the regional trade within the SAARC countries could not reach seven percent by cooperating in the fields of hydropower, agriculture and tourism.

Officials and members of SAARC Chamber from countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Maldives and other countries also participated online in the program.
