Kathmandu – On the occasion of India’s 77th Independence Day, the newly constructed school building of Shri Vishnudevi Secondary School in Chandragiri, Kathmandu has been inaugurated.

Karun Vanshal, first secretary of the Indian Embassy, Ghanshyam Luitel, ward president of Chandragiri municipality, Indra Bahadur Subedi, chairman of the school management committee, and Dilliram Luitel, project director of the central project implementation unit of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, jointly inaugurated the building, which was built with Indian assistance.

The school building was constructed at a cost of around 6.9 million rupees in accordance with the earthquake-resilient reconstruction standards of the Government of Nepal. There are two blocks in the newly constructed structure, in which there are 13 classrooms, administrative room, library, multi-purpose hall, laboratory etc. It is hoped that the child-friendly, gender-friendly and disabled-friendly earthquake-resistant structure will benefit more than 500 students and provide an effective learning environment.
