Kathmandu: India has provided relief materials to those affected by floods and natural calamities in Nepal. India has provided 3,000 tents and 10 rubber boats at a function held at Singha Durbar today.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Navin Srivastava handed over relief items from the Indian people and Government of India to the families affected by the floods and natural calamities to Home Minister Bal Krishna Khan. At the handover ceremony, Home Minister Khan thanked the people of India and the Government of India for their support. Stating that Nepal and India have not only government-to-government but also people-to-people relations, Home Minister Khan said that Nepal is always ready to deepen those relations.

Home Minister Khan reminded that Nepal is at high risk of many types of disasters and expressed confidence that the Government of India has been providing assistance in times of disaster and would continue to receive assistance in the days to come. On the occasion, Ambassador Srivastava expressed his commitment that India and Nepal are friends of happiness and sorrow and would try to deepen Nepal-India relations during his tenure.
