Kathmandu- A school building and dormitory constructed for Shree Ghanteshwor Secondary School in Jorayal Gaonpalika-4 Kundikot of Doti district has been inaugurated with the grant assistance of the Government of India.

Prashant Kumar Sona, Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and Laxman Bahadur Singh, Chief of the District Coordinating Committee, Doti jointly inaugurated the school building and dormitory for Shree Ghanteshwor Secondary School at Jorayal Gaonpalika-4, Kundikot in Doti District.

The project has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 96.9 lakh with the financial assistance of the Government of India as a community development project under the India-Nepal Development Cooperation Program in the field of education. This project is one of the 75 projects to be inaugurated in Nepal this year under the “Amrit Mahotsav of Independence” launched by the Government of India to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.

The school with more than 650 students is a prestigious school in Doti district. The newly constructed infrastructure will create a conducive environment for learning in schools.

Since 2003, India has launched more than 527 high-impact community development projects in Nepal, with 470 projects completed in seven provinces in the areas of health, education, drinking water, connectivity, sanitation and other public amenities. Of them, 34 are in the far-western states, including three in Doti district.

India and Nepal have a multilateral and strong development partnership that reflects the closeness between the people of the two countries. The implementation of this school project reflects the Government of India’s continued support in its efforts to build infrastructure in priority areas, including education.
