Adverse weather caused by winter rainfall for a couple of days has affected operations of domestic flights at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). The international flights are, however, regular, the TIA Office said.

According to TIA general manager Devendra KC, domestic service at TIA has been partially disrupted due to adverse weather. Some flights were operated in the morning. The winter rainfall since Thursday evening has caused a low visibility, thus affecting flight operations at airports across the country including TIA.

High hilly areas and mountainous regions are hit by heavy snowfall and it has worsened the situation, affecting the flight schedule largely. A total of 20 airlines companies including 10 helicopters provide domestic service from TIA.
