Kathmandu – The undergraduate programs run at Hetauda Campus, under Bagmati University, have drawn strong attention from students, guardians, and other stakeholders alike.
The campus has seen unprecedented growth in student enrolment and program offerings. In recent years, it has begun offering bachelor’s-level programs such as BIT, BBA, Hotel Management, BALLB, B.Ed and LLB following the semester system. With the admission quota for the first semester of the 2026 intake batch now filled, the campus has formally announced the closure of new admissions for the BBA and Hotel Management programs.
Hetauda Campus has increasingly emerged as a leading educational destination, drawing a growing stream of students from across Nepal, from the eastern to the western regions, for their studies. As a result, admission to the campus has become highly competitive and difficult. According to the campus, even though many students passed the entrance examination, not all of them could be accommodated due to the university’s quota system and limited seat capacity.
Because admissions are based on merit, and given Bagmati University’s limited quota, many students have been unable to secure a seat. Dr. Devendra Manandhar, Chief of Hetauda Campus, a constituent campus of the university, expressed concern that many students who passed the entrance exam could not be accommodated within the quota.
Many students and guardians have expressed disappointment at not being able to secure a place within the quota. The campus, acknowledging the inconvenience this has caused to the affected students and guardians, has expressed firm commitment to increasing the admission quota in the upcoming academic session to ease access for students.
