President expresses confidence Nepal-US ties will be deepened during Biden’s tenure

The top state officials have sent separate messages of felicitations on the assumption of high offices of the United States of America by the newly elected leadership there. President Bidya Devi Bhandari today sent a congratulatory message to Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. on his assumption of the office of the 46th President of the United States. India provide 1 million Covid-19 vaccines to Nepal

Kathmandu: The Government of India is providing 1 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine under grant assistance to Nepal. In a press conference jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Population and Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Wednesday, it was informed that the one million doses of the vaccine would arrive in Nepal with a few days. Speaking at the conference, Minister for Health and Population Hridesh Tripathi informed that the Covid-19 vaccine would be given to health workers, security personnel, and employees deputed in the management of dead bodies and waste. Stating that all the necessary legal and administrative procedures for procurement and use of the vaccine are complete, Minister Tripathi said the vaccination program would be initiated soon after the availability of the vaccine. The Health Minister also informed that the ministry was effortful to procure the Covid-19 vaccine needed for 72 per cent of the population. Agriculture sector has weakness in data: Secretary Dr Mishra

Secretary at the Karnali Province Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Dr Rajendra Prasad Mishra has termed ‘inadequacy of data’ as a prime weakness in agriculture sector. Making his concluding remarks at a three-day ‘Province-level Orientation on Farmers’ Indexing System’ organized by the Ministry of Agriculture Development Kathmandu and coordinated by Karnali Province Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives on Tuesday, he claimed that data was the main basis for planning and development in any sector. ‘If any problem prevails in agriculture that is data. We are slipping in the process of carrying out our works based on right data. We could not do proper works in agriculture in absence of factual data of the farmers,’ he noted. Secretary Dr. Mishra claimed that, ‘We can draw out a framework plan for perspective development once we enter the data into a syste.’ ‘Currently there are 298,000 households in Karnali Province. The National Women League Football Tournament is kicking off today. Departmental teams, Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club, are competing in the match to be held in Tripureshwor-based Dasharath Stadium.
