Shaligram Sheela sculpture in Jomsom becomes centre of religious faith
Mustang – The 22-foot-tall Shaligram Sheela sculpture, carved into a rock on the bank of the Kaligandaki River in Jomsom, Ward 4 of Gharapjhong Rural Municipality, has been becoming a centre of religious faith. Sculptors from the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts carved a huge rock by the Kaligandaki River into a Shaligram Sheela-shaped sculpture during a 15-day sculpture workshop was conducted in Jomsom from April 20 to May 4, and since then the place has been becoming an attractive spot for religious tourists.
