Employment Minister insists on creation of jobs within country

Kathmandu- Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Krishna Shrestha, has pledged to expand the employment programme right from the local level. Taking part in a discussion programme organised by the Ministry at Pokhara today, the Minister urged the three-tier government for effective cooperation to create jobs within the country. The Minister was of the view of developing the culture of entrepreneurship and respecting the work culture. As he insisted, the production of skilled workforce was necessary to meet the demand of market. He also spoke about the government policy of identifying practical hurdles in the domestic employment sector and promoting bodies concerned active in this field. Scholarships invited by IME Foundation in collaboration with GME Korea

Kathmandu- In collaboration with GME Korea, IME Foundation has brought an offer of scholarships to students for studying software engineering. With the aim of producing skilled manpower in the field of information technology, the Foundation, in collaboration with GME Korea, has called for scholarships for postgraduate (Masters Degree in Software Engineering) studies in any of the universities in Korea. The Foundation states that within one (1) month from the date of first publication of this notice, interested persons should submit their application along with their personal details (biodata) to the address or email mentioned in the details. Anyone interested in at least a bachelor’s degree in software engineering can apply. According to the foundation, the scholarship is not provided to any two students. Under this, students will be provided scholarships at the rate of US 10,000 per person per year, while students will also be offered the opportunity of a paid internship at GME Korea while studying in Korea. However, the foundation states that there is a rule that full-time GMEs must be in Korea for at least two years after the completion of the study. Indian Embassy celebrates World Hindi Day

Kathmandu- The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has organized World Hindi Day on Monday at Hotel Radisson. Since the first World Hindi Conference was held in Nagpur, India on January 10, 1975, World Hindi Day is celebrated on January 10 every year at Indian embassies and high commissions in India and around the world. Naveen Kumar, Head of Press, Information and Culture Division at the Embassy presided over the program. He read out a message from the Prime Minister of India on the occasion. The message and best wishes given by Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs of India on the occasion of World Hindi Day were presented through video.
