Birgunj- Discussions have been held between the Indian Embassy and the Government of Bihar on tourism promotion.

Necessary discussions on tourism promotion were held on Tuesday between the Indian embassies in Madhesh Pradesh, Birgunj and the governments of Bihar under the ‘@India Amrit Mahotsav of Independence’ of India’s independence.

The meeting also discussed issues related to resolving the difficulties faced by tourists on both sides by promoting bilateral tourism and maintaining liaison between government and private bodies in this regard.

The chief guest was the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Forests of Madhesh Pradesh, Shatrughan Mahato. He also agreed to improve and facilitate the collection of road tax and other taxes levied on Indian vehicles in Nepal.

Similarly, the participants focused on the promotion of tourist destinations in the Madhes and Eastern and West Champaran districts of Bihar. He expressed his views on setting up a help desk at the border.

The program was attended by Chief District Officer of Parsa, Superintendent of Police, Armed Police and NID Parsa, District Officer of East Champaran, Additional District Magistrate of West Champaran, Chief Conservation Officer of Chitwan National Park, representatives of Parsa National Park, hotel and tour operators.
