67th Anniversary of Nepal Rastra Bank : Various programs organized by Birgunj branch

Birgunj-  Nepal Rastra Bank, Birgunj has concluded its 67th anniversary with various programs. On the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the Bank, the Birgunj Branch Office has conducted various programs with the active participation of the employees of Nepal Rastra Bank and Class A, B, C and D financial institutions in Birgunj. The programs started on April 22 and ended on April 30.   Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Rajandev Bhattarai addressed the banking group of Birgunj and informed about the program to be organized during the program. Similarly, Bhattarai also urged the entire staff to complete the festival with grandeur. On the occasion of the anniversary, the bank had organized ‘7-a-side interbank cricket tournament’ from April 22 to 25. In the final, Civil Bank Limited defeated Kumari Bank Limited and won the competition.   Similarly, a blood donation program was organized under the slogan “Blood Donation for Life” in coordination with the Nepal Red Cross Society in which employees of banks, financial institutions and other stakeholders donated blood. 137 thousand plus Candidacies filed for May 13 election: EC

Kathmandu- More than 137 thousand (137,043) candidacies were filed for various posts for the upcoming local level election scheduled for May 13. The Election Commission (EC) shared update this morning. The EC made public the final data on nomination at 7:30am today. As per the final update, 3,276 candidacies were for chair/mayor post and 2,009 for deputy mayor/vice chair post at rural/municipalities. Similarly, 32,217 were registered as the candidates for ward chairs while 23,521 as women members, 21,221 as Dalit women members, and 49,239 as ward members. For the total 35,221 posts at 753 local levels, country is holding the local level election on May 13. The nomination filing occurred in an encouraging atmosphere on Sunday and Monday throughout the country. The EC has slated today (April 26) as the day to receive objection to the candidacies. Investigation on the complaints/objection would be done on April 27 and 28. It would be followed by the publication of candidate name list. Indian Embassy Organized ‘Athletics Meet’, ​​100 athletes participated

Kathmandu: The Indian Embassy in Birgunj has organized a one-day ‘Athletics Meet’. The embassy has organized a one-day athletics meet at Narayani Stadium on Saturday to mark the 75th day of independence.
