New Delhi — Despite a mutual agreement on a ceasefire, India has strongly condemned Pakistan for allegedly violating the terms and continuing cross-border aggression.
According to Indian authorities, Pakistan has breached the recently concluded ceasefire agreement by launching fresh attacks along the border areas. Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri expressed serious concern over Pakistan’s actions during a special press briefing held on Sunday.
“Although a ceasefire understanding was reached between the Directors General of Military Operations of both countries, there have been continuous violations over the past few hours. This clearly constitutes a breach of the agreement,” said Misri.
He stated that Indian armed forces have been responding appropriately and firmly to these violations. India has called on Pakistan to halt such activities immediately and handle the situation with seriousness and responsibility.
“Our armed forces have been instructed to respond strictly to repeated ceasefire violations along the international border and the Line of Control. We have maintained strong control over the situation,” Misri emphasized.
Just last evening, the foreign ministers of both nations had reaffirmed their commitment to the ceasefire. However, India claims that Pakistan resumed its attacks shortly after the agreement was confirmed.
