Kathmandu- With the support of the Government of India, the foundation stone of the building of Janata Belka Secondary School in Belka Municipality of Udaipur has been laid.

Member of the House of Representatives and former minister Dr. Narayan Khadka and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indian Embassy here Prashann Srivastava laid the foundation stone of the building on Wednesday. The building is going to be constructed with the financial assistance of Rs.

According to the embassy, the Indian government’s grant under ‘Nepal (India Development Cooperation’) will be used for the construction of a three-storied school building with necessary classrooms and other infrastructure.

Under the agreement between the governments of India and Nepal, this project, previously known as Small Development Project, will be developed as a high impact community development project. This project will be implemented through Belka municipality.

In the program, Dr. Khadka praised the continuous support provided by the Indian government for the advancement of the Nepali people in priority areas. Srivastava, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indian Embassy, Kathmandu said that this project is an important part of the strong development partnership between India and Nepal.

He also said that the implementation of the High Impact Community Development Project in Nepal had successfully completed 20 years last month. After the completion of the construction of this school building, it is believed that the new school building will help provide quality education to the students of Janata Bel Secondary School and also contribute to the development of education in this area.

Since 2003, more than 550 high impact community development projects have been initiated in various areas of Nepal and 488 projects have been completed.
