Kathmandu- The building of Madan Bhandari Memorial College in Anamnagar, Kathmandu was inaugurated today.

The foundation stone was laid in the year 2063 and the building was completed in the year 2066. Former Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava inaugurated the building today. There are 30 rooms in the three-storey college building built with the help of the Government of India.

In the opening program, former Minister Pandey mentioned that Nepal and India have had friendly relations for centuries and said that such cooperation is a reflection of mutual relations and understanding between the two countries. He said that there are many development projects in India for the support of the local communities of Nepal and hoped for continued support.

Likewise, Indian Ambassador Srivastava informed that there are many projects of cooperation from the Government of India in the fields of education and health in Nepal and expressed the belief that the bilateral relations will be further strengthened by the exchange of cooperation at the people’s level.

He also informed that the Government of India provides scholarships to Nepali students who go to study in India for higher education every year. Ushakiran Bhandari, Chairman of Madan Bhandari Foundation, Santosh Budhathoki, Coordinator of District Coordination Committee and Ramesh Chandra Paudel, Campus Head of Madan Bhandari College, praised India’s support in the construction of the building.
