Kathmandu – An international seminar on conservation of natural and cultural heritage has been inaugurated. During a ceremony on Sunday, Minister of Culture and Tourism Sudan Kirati, Minister of State Sushila Sirpali Thakuri and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava jointly inaugurated an international seminar on knowledge exchange on conservation of natural and cultural heritage.

The seminar was organized by Indian National Trust and Art Culture Heritage (INTAC) in collaboration with the Indian Embassy to strengthen the relationship between research, policy and practice in the field of cultural heritage of both countries and to share knowledge about best practices gained from the field experiences of experts.

28 cultural heritage sites in 7 districts of Nepal are being protected under the post-earthquake reconstruction grant of 50 million US dollars. Xltbridge has provided technical expertise for 12 heritage areas.

In the seminar, there were various technical sessions as well as interaction with the participants and discussions with experts working in the field of natural and cultural heritage protection associated with various organizations.

Officials of the Nepalese government, representatives of international organizations, construction professionals and experts working in the field of heritage protection were present in the seminar. The seminar is one of the week-long programs organized by the embassy under the ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi’.
