Dovan bazaar fire ravages property worth Rs 400 million

Taplejung- Loss amounting to Rs 400 million has been reported in the fire incident that took place at Dovan Bazaar of Taplejung.

A taskforce formed under the coordination of Chief Administrative Officer of Meringden rural municipality, Dambar Angdambe, for the collection of official details of the loss has disclosed that the inferno caused the loss amounting to Rs 398.77 million.

The fire had completely destroyed houses along with nearby shops, cardamom store and other physical structures. Angdambe said that the Nepal Telecom had faced the biggest loss of Rs. 10 million when its tower and other structure were completely destroyed. It took a long time to assess details of loss triggered by the fire incident, Angdambe added.

The taskforce entrusted with the responsibility for gathering details of loss after the fire incident came up with their assessment last night. The fire that took place on Tuesday had destroyed 49 houses. RSS
